如何做到让孩子们理解这则寓言故事的含义同时又能带给他们欢乐和明白蕴涵的道理呢？启元（美国）新泽西幼儿园的教师Ms. Amy和Mr. Xin让孩子们去演绎故事，让孩子们自己选择喜欢的角色来扮演：懵懂的小鸡，慈祥的母鸡，憨厚的鸭子，张扬的鹅，还有聪明的狐狸。为了让孩子们充分演绎好各自的角色，节目开始前，进行了具体分工：Amy老师带着孩子们认真编写剧本，并熟悉故事剧中每一个角色的台词，而Xin老师则负责旁白和提词。孩子们通过分组来决定哪一组先出演，剩下的孩子们则充当观众和评委。
